Introduction

Following the success of last year’s collaboration between the Cook Islands Kitesurfing Association and the KTA, the partnership will once again be presenting the Manureva  KTA.

Background

The Cook Islands Kitesurfing Association are the hosts for the even and  have been admitted to several domestic and international sports organisations.

These include Sailing Cook Islands our national sports body that includes kitesurfing, Oceania Sailing Federation (OSF) which is our Pacific Region, and the International Sailing Federation (ISF).
 
Lastly we have also been admitted to the International Kiteboarding Association (IKA) which governs kitesurfing internationally.

The KTA has been responsible for the development and operation of the Asian Kiteboard Championship Tour and a number of other national and international open competition events. The KTA is sanctioned by the IKA and ISAF and shall during 2013 also manage the Asian Course Race Championships and the IKA World Course Race Championships.

The KTA will this year also be introducing its successful KTA Kite Kids programme to the Cook Islands, along with training and support for the Cook Islands Kitesurfing Association to run future events independently.
