Introduction

The Cook Islands Kitesurfing Association wants is hosting the Manureva International Kitesurfing competition in the Cook Islands

We are holding an exhibition event in Rarotonga on Monday 30th June 2012 after hosting the Manureva International Cook Islands Kitesurfing Competition in Aituaki from Monday 25th – Friday 29th June 2012. We anticipate 35-50 competitors.

Background

The Cook Islands Kitesurfing Association has been admitted to several domestic and international sports organisations. 
These include Sailing Cook Islands our national sports body that includes kitesurfing, Oceania Sailing Federation (OSF) which is our Pacific Region, and the International Sailing Federation (ISF).  

Lastly we have also been admitted to the International Kiteboarding Association (IKA) which governs kitesurfing internationally. 
IKA has indicated interest in endorsing our event. 

The Cook Islands Sports and National Olympic Committee (CISNOC) President, Sir Geoffrey Henry K.B.E., Tourism Cook Islands CEO Carmel Beattie and Air Rarotonga’s Ewan Smith have agreed to sponsor the event.
